Having travelled abroad under several international owners, MY True North has returned to it's roots in The Netherlands, and after an extensive refit and a complete engine overhaul, now she is available again for new adventures with a new owner. "True North" was baptised "Desiderata" in 1964, and was originally built to serve as a yacht, as opposed to most characterisitic vessels in this range, and thus benefitting from a very practical layout plan that enables both family cruising with or without crew, but also commercial activities or charter; She boasts a characteristic wheelhouse with well equipped bridge (and updated navigation equipment), with excellent view all around, a full-beam living on deck level with ensuite galley and doors on either side. Below decks, the owners'cabin with ensuite bathroom is situated aft, the engine room midships, and forward of the engine room one finds two guest cabins (one of which is currently being used as a dressing room), and further forward another bathroom and the former crew cabins, now in use as a workplace and storage. Between the anchor locker and the workplace is another storage, accessible from deck. Outside, ample deckspace aft of the wheelhouse and on the front deck provide for dinghy storage, preparing for your next dive, or extended F&B facilities. Aft, under the cover of the extended bridgedeck, a settee enables for shaded dining or breakfast.
Ture Norths current owners commissioned a detailed, well documented, extensive refit, performed by a respected and qualified shipyard. True North was conserved, updated, overhauled and refined, but at the same time a lot of effort was put in preserving her original charm. Extra empahsis was put on livability, and has since been in use as a first home for it's owners, thanks to modern heating and good isolation. The newly placed galley is fully equipped an enables any (home) chef to surprise his or her guests. Apart from the radar, the nav station has been equipped with 2018 Simrad navigation equipment while safeguarding the the originality of the wheelhouse. To complete the overhaul, a specialized company was commissioned to perform a full overhaul of both MAN engines with original parts - a report of which will be available on request. By doing so, she not only is a one of a kind, charming live-avoard, but comfortably and safely gets you places, as current owners (shorthandedly) have done.
True North is classified for the European Inland Waterways (CVO/CBB) and comes with a recent 4.20 m Mercury Ocean Runner RIB (2018) with center console and economic 30 hp Mercury outboard (2018). Both the ship and it's hitory are well documented and will be delivered including a comprehensive handover by it's knowledgeable owners. For both adventurers and people looking to acquire an incedibly charming live-aboard, viewings are highly recommended !
